Of The Time Nicola OsborneAnnabel BarryTina Robertson
Welcome to Right Hemisphere and we’re BACK from 12th-21st June in TWO venues
The place where celebrating creativity comes as second nature
Right Hemisphere, are three passionate artists, creating in a number of genres and mediums. We are; Annabel Barry, Nicola Osborne and Tina Robertson
We are keen to exhibit our work to as wide an audience as possible. With that in mind, we have decided to create our own opportunities
Our aim is to celebrate the work of local artists, who create in a variety of media
Frustrated with a lack of venues and chances to exhibit, we have decided to do something about this, arranging an exhibition, alongside invited local artists.
We look forward to being able to share future developments with you, so stay tuned
This is our second year of creating an exhibition with a difference.
Last year was such a success we decided to do it again.
This time with a twist.
We are delighted to able to connect with local gallery HADLEIGH GALLERY for a week long exhibition 13th-21st June open daily 10-4pm.
and at:
Our HOME GALLERY which will be open 12th-14th June (Friday 12-5pm, Saturday 10-4pm, Sunday 11-4pm) at HADLEIGH PARK AVENUE SS7 1SA
Have a look at last years event click on the link in the image
We will be arranging workshops with local creatives, which will be bookable on EVENTBRITE and through the links on our sites. Details to come.
Our Artist Raffle raised over ยฃ300 last year for TRUST LINKS CHARITY.
Our aim for this year is to raise even more for a different charity.
PICC Pals is our chosen charity for 2026
We have chosen PICC Pals, a local charity of which two of our members are volunteers.
PICC Pals will be getting involved in our HOME GALLERY event, more details to come.
Each of our artists has donated a piece of their work or a voucher for a workshop which you have the chance of winning for the price of ยฃ3 a ticket 5 for ยฃ13
Proceeds go to support the incredible work of local charity PICC Pals,
Who are they? They are a charity supporting those going through cancer treatment with covers for PICC lines.
“A PICCline sleeve is a simple tube of fabric – usually scuba – which is gently shaped to fit the arm and cover the *end of the PICC line.
Patients are usually given a piece of elasticated bandage when they leave the hospital with a newly fitted line, which often becomes dirty and tired.
Our sleeves are designed to look less ‘medical’ than elasticated bandages and are available in a range of colours and prints. They can also be worn as a pair to mimic a layered T-shirt.“
You can purchase your tickets on our website, or in person via our QR code in our venues.
Annabel makes mixed media sculptures, creating her artwork in her South Essex Studio in Westcliff on Sea.
Annabel’s process
Working predominantly with wire and paper mache, Annabel, creates sculptures of animals, flowers and other objects. In these sculptures, she is expressing her love of form, colour and nature. They are objects of exploration, that will last a lifetime. A sculpture starts with an idea and evolves through design, construction, painting and finishing before becoming what she hopes is an interesting and tactile object. Working intuitively, each piece starts with an initial outline made from robust wire. Annabel then continues to add thinner, flexible wire to stabilise what she is working on, creating more detail. Eventually a recognisable shape is formed. It can take her a few hours of fiddling about with the wire until suddenly there is a magic moment when the piece begins to finally evolve and take on a personality of its own.
Annabel’s use of the armature or structure of the sculpture becomes a part of the finished form. Her considered use of paper mache, fills some of the negative space, allowing the viewer to โfill in the gapsโ for themselves.
Nicola is a mixed media painter, creating from her home studio in Benfleet.
She studied Illustration at KIAD.
After her degree, she qualified as an art teacher and taught art for 20 years. Nicola is working as a full-time artist.
Nicola’s process
For Nicola, painting is more than a visual experience โ it’s an emotional dialogue between colour, form, and viewer. As a former art teacher turned full-time artist, Nicola brings both technical skill and intuitive depth to her mixed media practice
Working primarily with acrylics and vibrant acrylic inks, Nicola creates layered, expressive works that shimmer with colour and emotion. Her fascination lies in how colour affects the human spirit.
Her process is intuitive, embracing the unexpected. Patterns emerge. Shapes repeat. Lines and geometry intertwine with bold washes of colour. She draws inspiration from kaleidoscopic imagery and the structured chaos of the natural world, using visual rhythm to draw viewers in.
Natures MusicNicola in a rare moment of relaxation
Tina is a self-taught, mixed-media artist, working in a variety of styles, from her home studio.
Tina’s process
Generally working in acrylic paint, applied with a palette knife, spray paint and Posca pens, Tina creates bold, bright and dynamic images. She also makes striking soft pastel and ink/acrylic illustrations.
As an intuitive painter, Tina enjoys the immersive freedom that these materials give her. Mark-making evolves naturally through her process, along with strong and painterly elements. Her, work is quirky, striking and far from conventional.
Her subject matter is the female form, inspiration coming from the inner strength and beauty of women.
Tina celebrates an alternative view of beauty. Her mark-making and semi-abstraction, seeks to convey, that perceived imperfection is beautiful. We should not strive incessantly for outward beauty, but embrace our ‘flaws’ and ‘imperfections’.
As experienced exhibitors, we are aware of how difficult it is to show work to new audiences.
Engaging audiences has never been harder, even in the age of a myriad of social media platforms.
It is our aim to showcase creativity in as many people and as many ways as possible.
We are not a platform for selling directly to collectors.
We are about connecting creatives and collectors through exhibitions and experiences.
We believe this will promote a healthy artistic community, encouraging long term relationships.
DOMINION: the other SUMMER exhibition, was our first in Right Hemisphere’s events. An exhibition in a domestic setting. Check out last year’s fabulous event on our page.
This year we have sent out invitations to a number of new creatives and we will be working in conjunction with our local gallery, HADLEIGH GALLERY.
As a result we will be hosting exhibitions in two venues concurrently.
Below are the artists exhibiting in each venue.
There will be events taking place so keep an eye out for details.

Screen print workshop
Vadims is planning to run a demo where he’ll briefly explain the basics of screen printing, including the process, tools, inks, materials, etc. The demo will be free of charge, as heโd love to give people the opportunity to discover something new. – All participants will have a chance to try printing themselves. – Everyone will leave with their own print at the end. – he will provide all materials, including paper, ink, screens and everything needed for printing.
Gill will host a free collage demo, showing her materials and techniques in the style of โhereโs one I did earlierโ so she can show one which is more finished. A little audience participation would be fun.
A demonstration of using a clay extruder plus idea of how to use the various extrusions. An opportunity for observers to experiment with your own ideas.
Make a Mosaic ‘Postcard’ using upcycled and found objects In this messy session you will have fun creating a montage from recycled & found materials to make a large postcard from your imagination. using junk jewellery, beads, buttons, and beach-combed treasure you will explore the simplicity of the most basic mosaic making – embedding items into a cement based adhesive. This is a messy activity so wear old clothes and be prepared to get mucky! Aged 14+ accompanied by an adult.

The weather was amazing. The workshops were fabulous. Attendance during the weekend was wonderful. Sales were really good and the quality of the exhibition was second to none.
Therefore, why wouldn’t we do it all again. So here we go.
This year however, there’s a twist, we are offering the chance for artists to exhibit at Hadleigh Gallery for a week as well as at our home venue.
